Ground reinforcement by compaction grouting

Located in the port of La Rochelle, the project consisted in the ground reinforcement behind the new Anse Saint-Marc quay.

The ground was composed of limestone up to 3 m deep, of rock-fill up to 7 m deep, of compressible backfill up to 15 m deep and of marly substratum.

As the rock-fill does not allow the use of the Controlled Modulus Columns technique, Menard proposed to carry out compaction grouting to treat the embankment.
